The sight of Coca-Cola's iconic logo warped and mangled on a crushed aluminium can triggers an involuntary physical response — you feel the crunch in your hand, the give of thin metal, the sharp crinkle. No one touches a can, but the distorted image activates motor memory so vividly that fingers tense and palms curl.
